Cranberries are one of two major agriculture crops known for their ability to thrive in the NJ Pinelands.  Cranberries are harvested in the fall, usually in October.  Their brillant red color can make for fantastic fall color, in an otherwise very green pitch pine dominated forest.  Imaged here: Cranberries being "knocked" off the vines at Moore's Meadow Blueberry and Cranberry Farm in Tabernacle, NJ.
